Company Due Diligence: Fees, Timing & Limits

Advokato helps verify material legal facts about a company before you sign, pay or invest. The agreed checks may cover official records, supplied corporate documents and legal issues relevant to the transaction. The output is a dated report separating sources, supported findings, discrepancies, unknowns and follow-up steps. Scope, lawful data processing, timing and costs are established before work starts.

Answer first

Company & Counterparty Due Diligence in Georgia

Legal checks on a Georgian company or business counterparty: status, representation, document consistency and sourced issues before a transaction.

Before acting, verify the legal basis, deadline and consistency of the documents. This guide is a preparation framework, not an individual legal opinion.

What drives cost

  • The lawyer's fee depends on companies, countries, documents, languages, questions, access and timing; no fixed professional price is advertised here. NAPR's charges checked on 23 October 2026 are 20 GEL for an extract in 1 working day or 75 GEL on the application day; an electronic extract requested online is 13 or 52 GEL for those respective periods. An English-language extract adds 26 GEL. These are separate agency fees. Agree the required extracts, translations and other costs, and recheck the current tariff before ordering.

Legal fees depend on scope and stages. Government and third-party charges can change and should be checked against the official source before payment.

What drives timing

  • The report timetable is agreed against scope and files. An extract's official period concerns that document alone; foreign records, corporate documents, translation, clarification of discrepancies and further questions affect the overall process. State the closing deadline at the start. A same-day complete check or unchanged circumstances until closing is not promised.

A useful timeline separates controllable and external stages and reserves time for appeal or additional-document requests.

Key risks and common mistakes

  • Confusing similarly named companies or relying on an old extract without checking later changes.
  • Treating registration as proof of solvency, business quality or every ultimate beneficial owner.
  • Overlooking signatory identity, representation arrangements or the validity of a power of attorney.
  • Equating unavailable information with no risk, or the existence of proceedings with a proven violation.
  • Collecting excessive personal data, reusing public data for an incompatible purpose or treating consent as unrestricted access.
