Nova Scotia publishes August and September selection totals: check the response process, not a guessed cutoff

The October 23 table reports monthly selections without individual draw dates or minimum scores. Selected applicants must follow the province’s separate document and payment instructions.

Monthly reporting is different from a single draw

Nova Scotia’s EOI selection table, updated on 23 October 2026, records 1,212 candidates selected in August and 946 in September. It does not publish individual draw dates, stream-by-stream allocations or minimum scores for those monthly totals. October is still marked as to be determined in the checked version.

The province identifies healthcare, skilled trades and other priority occupations as the main focus. That description is not a promise that every person working in one of those fields will be selected. Eligibility, labour-market priorities and available spaces continue to influence selections.

A pool entry is not an assessment decision

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program overview distinguishes submitting an expression of interest, selection, assessment and possible nomination. It states that selection is not first come, first served. A long wait therefore cannot be converted into a reliable prediction of the next applicant to be contacted.

A hypothetical nurse waiting in the pool should keep registration, employment and immigration documents ready, but should not infer an invitation from the occupation appearing in a monthly summary. The relevant evidence is a direct notification through the official process, followed by compliance with its instructions.

The response window needs preparation

The program overview says selected applicants have seven calendar days to review the application, provide updated documents and pay the application fee. It also states that new documents cannot be uploaded before selection. Check the actual notification and current instructions; an application can fail to proceed if the required response is not completed.

This makes advance organisation useful even while an upload is unavailable. Maintain current copies of the relevant documents and a list of changes since the EOI. Do not wait for selection to discover that a document has expired or that an employer’s letter contains inconsistent dates.

Keep statistical totals out of eligibility calculations

The combined August and September total is 2,158 selections, calculated by adding the two published figures. That arithmetic does not show approval rates, remaining places or a personal probability of success. Those would require different data, which the monthly selection table does not supply.

What to check while waiting

Monitor official notifications and the validity of the EOI, and use the applicable process for material changes. Avoid paying for a promised place based on an unpublished cutoff. The new table helps describe program activity; it cannot replace an individual eligibility review or the province’s assessment of the submitted evidence.
