Canada’s transport Express Entry round: 150 invitations

IRCC’s 28 October transport round invited 150 candidates at CRS 477. The job’s actual duties and category requirements matter more than its title.

What the new round shows

IRCC’s round 453, held on 28 October 2026 at 10:34:14 UTC, issued 150 invitations in Transport Occupations, 2026 Version 2. The lowest invited CRS score was 477. The tie-break was 4 June 2026 at 21:48:22 UTC. The official data records the federal skilled worker, skilled trades and Canadian experience programs for this round. Official source.

Category selection is not a general transport visa

The result is confirmed in IRCC’s round dataset. The category-selection framework still requires an eligible Express Entry profile and the applicable category conditions. A transport-sector employer or an appealing job title does not by itself establish eligibility.

Review the work, not a label

Applicants should compare their actual duties and documented work history with the occupation used in their profile. A role involving a ship, aircraft or logistics company may involve very different responsibilities from another role in the same business. Ask the employer for an accurate description rather than rewriting duties to resemble a preferred category.

Keep professional permission separate

Immigration selection and permission to perform a regulated occupation are different planning questions. Before accepting a role, establish which credentials, licences or local approvals the particular work requires. This round is not evidence that a foreign qualification has been recognised or that a Canadian employer can place the applicant immediately into every transport role.

Hypothetical example

Suppose a candidate with a score of 477 works for an airline but performs office administration. The employer’s industry alone cannot establish that the candidate belongs in the transport category. A careful review would examine the real occupation, the category criteria and the supporting employment evidence before treating the published threshold as relevant.

Next steps after selection

Check the secure account, preserve the invitation and compare the submitted profile with current documents. Follow the actual application instructions rather than assuming that a public draw result starts the same deadline for everyone. The invitation is not permanent residence or a work permit, and this result does not predict the score or occupations used in a later round.
