British Columbia invites entrepreneurs in two October 20 selections: business preparation comes before nomination
BC issued 10 Base invitations and fewer than five Regional invitations, both at a minimum score of 118. The selection is a step towards an application, not permanent residence.

Read the two selections separately
British Columbia’s official invitation table records 20 October 2026 Entrepreneur Immigration selections with a minimum score of 118 in both streams. Ten invitations were issued in the Base stream and fewer than five in the Regional stream. The suppressed Regional count should not be converted into an invented exact number.
The figures concern qualified registrations received before the draw. They do not establish the next cutoff or make a registration at 118 automatically successful in a future selection. Base and Regional have different business and community requirements, so comparing scores without the stream can be misleading.
Choose a business route that fits the actual project
The provincial entrepreneur guidance distinguishes starting or taking over and growing a business under Base from a new business linked to a participating community under Regional. The latter includes community involvement. A proposed address alone does not establish that the project fits the local priorities.
In a hypothetical relocation from Georgia, an entrepreneur planning to buy an existing company should examine the applicable stream before paying a deposit. The immigration plan and the purchase agreement should be coordinated so that an assumed invitation does not become an unconditional commercial obligation.
Make the business evidence independently credible
A useful file separates personal experience, available funds, the proposed investment and the business model. Explain how the project will operate and what evidence supports the assumptions. A persuasive description cannot replace documents showing the source and availability of funds or the person’s actual management history.
Due diligence on the business remains a separate task. Immigration selection does not verify title to assets, contractual liabilities, lease terms or the accuracy of a seller’s accounts. An applicant may need both an immigration assessment and a transaction-specific review before committing funds.
An invitation is not a work permit or nomination
The pathway involves further assessment and requirements before provincial nomination and a federal permanent-residence decision. Consult the official program guides for the selected stream and the instructions in the invitation. Do not infer a right to begin working from the draw table.
Prepare for the next stage, not an imagined guarantee
An invited candidate should preserve the submitted registration, reconcile it with supporting records and calendar the actual response deadline. A person still in the pool should update material changes through the proper process. Neither past selection scores nor a consultant’s forecast can guarantee a future invitation or residence approval.
